More about me

I was a substitute for Guilford County Schools for 3 years, and decided to turn it into a permanent career, because I like the idea of helping people learn. I picked English, because I think language, critical thinking and reading skills are the key to unlocking all other knowledge bases. Also, I couldn’t do physics because I stink at math.

Eventually, I’d like to teach at the college level in English. For now, though, I’ll put my best effort into helping High School students get ready for what may come, whether it’s college or the working world.

While I was abroad, I taught a class at a local primary school, with their equivalent of 6th graders. While there, I discovered that to enter the high-school analogue, students must interview in English. So English is not just useful in the English-speaking world, but worldwide. That makes the English teacher’s job an important one.
